About team: Barcelona`s U-17 team is ahead in the current championship for their age category. Two of the players, participating in the Spartak Cup are national team players. They are Juan Manuel Garcia Rey and Rodrigo Tarin. In the head of the team is the former academy player – Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, who started his coach career in the Academy in 2001, now this technician guides U16,U17 and U18-U19 teams.

About Academy:

The majority of young players in the Academy of Barcelona are from Catalonia region and just 30% come from other Spanish regions and other countries.

At the very first steps in preparation process of the young players all exercises are always with the ball. The quality of the performance, not the quantity is highlighted. During training sessions sixteen years old Barca players are taught one-touch play. 

All youth teams of Barcelona play 4-3-3 formation to facilitate their passage to the first team.
