Academy President Sergey Rodionov has appealed to participants of Spartak Cup international junior tournament.

- This year’s composition of the entry list is interesting, because we have coped to reiterate the group round of Champions League: Barcelona, Celtic, Benfica and Spartak will play on Academy’s fields. I’m convinced their confrontation will be as much rebellious and engrossing as matches involving adult teams. Also English Tottenham and Dynamo Kiev will fight for Spartak Cup. It’s always challenging to play against teams from football motherland, and the confrontation of Spartak Moscow versus Dynamo Kiev is legendary and crucial. The tournament with such entry list can’t be unexciting, as all teams represent leading European academies, each of which has got its own philosophy and style of playing.

In my view, in such tournaments every team may assess its own level compared to high class opponents and draw relevant conclusions, as well as gain invaluable international competition experiences.

I’d like to thank again our guests, who have accepted our invitation to participate in the tournament. We’ll try to arrange these competitions at the high level, hopefully, the games will be held in a friendly environment, and the teams will demonstrate their best football.

U-17 Spartak Cup international junior tournament is scheduled from April 9 to 14 (Academy’s stadium). Admission to the matches is free.
