In the final game of Spartak Cup international junior tournament Academy’s mentees will be confronted with footballers from Dynamo Kiev.

The Spartak team approached the match ranking third in the tournament table with six points in their assets, and the Kievers got 3 points after four matches and the fifth line in the table. So far both teams managed to gain one victory each; moreover, they outplayed the same opponent – Portuguese Benfica. In the previous games Spartak missed out the victory twice, ending matches vs Tottenham and Celtic in a draw, though our team had been leading in scores during the matches. Dzubanov and Ratnikov’s team failed to achieve victory in confrontation with Barcelona, though the tournament hosts had rather good opportunities for that. Dynamo faced even less luck, because in matches with Catalan and English teams they were the first to shoot goals, but after that they conceded late goals twice, furthermore, the decisive balls flew into their net several minutes before the final whistle.    

The teams happened to play with each other a year ago in Cup of Three Capitals held in Spartak’s manege. At that time the red and whites succeeded to gain the victory with the minimum score thanks to Vladislav Panteleev’s penalty.  

As the gap between the teams is narrow, much will depend on a face-to-face game of the Moscow and Kiev teams, as well as of the outcome of a match between Celtic (that is ranked second with seven points) and Tottenham (that collected four points and is on the fourth place in the table). It should be reminded that Spartak Cup winner became known on Friday evening, when Barcelona succeeded in the third match and won the championship ahead of schedule. On the last day the Catalans will play with footballers of Portuguese Benfica, who are at the bottom of the tournament table.  

The match of Spartak (Moscow) versus Dynamo Kiev will be held on Academy’s stadium in Sokolniki on Sunday, April 14, it will commence at 7.00 p.m.
