Another drawn match in Spartak Cup Теги: SPARTAK TOTTENHAM
The match between Spartak Academy’s mentees and
English Tottenham ended in a draw in the international junior tournament.
Spartak – Tottenham - 1:1 (1:0)
Goals: Bakaev –
Onoma
Spartak: Scherbakov, Grechkin, Yevteev, Ivanushkin,
Likhachev, Babayev, Buranov, Bakaev, Panteele, Akhaev (Konovalov), Yuriev
To support our footballers Valery Karpin
(senior coach of the core team), Roman Askhabadze (club CEO) came to see the
game against the Englishmen. The match was also attended by Sergey Rodionov
(Academy President) and Valentine Klimko (Academy Director).
Again Spartak guys played at the very decent
level, but again they lacked just a bit to gain the victory. During the first
minutes the opponents tested Scherbakov’s vigilance several times, but he effortlessly
coped with the English shots. The responses of our mentees were much more pulsating.
Bakaev came to the penalty area from the left side by outplaying several guards
and passed the ball into the far corner without let of hindrance – somewhat
inaccurately. Tottenham guards twice took the fall after a mistake of their own
goalkeeper, who kicked the ball right to Yuriev’s foot. The red and whites
managed to score in the 26th minute. Vladlen Babaev was awarded a
free kick, after which rapid kick-off our team advanced. Zelimkhan Bakaev distinguished
himself thanks to Said Akhmaev’s pass. Unfortunately, Spartak didn’t lead in
scores for a long time. At the beginning of the second half the referee didn’t
react to a foul against Scherbakov in the goalkeeper area and counted
Tottenham’s goal scored after the infringement. Dzhubanov’s team had time and
opportunities to gain the victory, but again football fortune didn’t favor
Spartak when taking a free kick in the English penalty area, and when Buranov
kicked from a disastrous position in the last minutes – 1:1.
Before the last tournament match, where Spartk
will play against Dynamo Kiev, the red and whites with their six points are
ranked third in the tournament table.
