About team: The team that represents Sporting at this tournament is composed of footballers born in the years of 1995 – 1996. More than half of the team players are members of junior national teams of their own countries. Sporting U-17 and U-16 teams lead at the regular championship.
About Academy:
Sporting is famous for its unique young football talent development system. Two graduates of Sporting school were recognized as the best players of the year in the world and in Europe, five alumni of the club are winners of the Champions League.
In 2002 Sporting established the Academy that became
the first sports facility of such size and quality in Portugal. The Academy is
one of the most modern, sophisticated and well-equipped institutions of this
kind in Europe. Sporting Academy is the only in Europe that has ISO9001: 2008
quality certificate (the certificate was awarded in 2010). This certificate
means that independent experts highly appreciated Academy’s mission, vision and
values, its management system, quality of work with teams, sportsmen and their
families, as well as performance of coaching and medical staff.
